CURRENT WRITING PROJECT
“MURDER IN THE KITCHEN” is my current writing project.
WHAT SPECIFIC GENRE IS THIS BOOK?
That’s a good question. I’m writing the book and find it fun and tricky to respond to, in truth.
But, to make it simple, it’s a futuristic cozy mystery with a little romance in it.
WHAT’S MY PLANNED WORD COUNT?
FYI: The average full-length novel is 80,000 words, by the way.
Now, I’ll give you my answer. I’m aiming for somewhere between 80,000 and 100,000 words.
CONFESSION
I’m about halfway through writing “MURDER IN THE KITCHEN: BOOK 1 OF THE COLMICIDE MYSTERY SERIES” and I have a confession…
I LOVE this new book. It’s a little dark in some places in the book, since it is a murder mystery, but the rest of the book is lighter. Now, keep in mind—I’m Christian. So, I refuse to go into great detail about the crime scene and don’t have sex in it either. But, it’s not needed. It won’t be missed. There’s too much going on to miss those things.
The characters seem to have great depth and there’s lots of conflict where there are several roadblocks the characters of the book keep running into—and about the time they think they’re through them, more appear.
While I don’t think anything can come close to the joy it was to write “Cammi’s Story: The 1st Quest for the Lost Volumes” of the Lethana Series, this one is pretty darn close. It’s very different since it’s a mystery and isn’t a fantasy, like “Cammi’s Story.”
I can see this series taking off in the long-run. I also can see several books coming out in this series.
The Colmicide Mystery Series is Based On…
By the way, there are the authors that the Colmicide Mystery Series is based on and I thought you might like to see if you could get an idea what they will look like once written:
~ J.D. Robb
~ Joanne Fluke
~ Kate Collins
~ Cleo Coyle
~ Janet Evanovich
